Are beauty injections painful?

After watching some “scary” videos online about how certain procedures are performed, it’s easy to think that beauty injections are truly painful.
For many women, the fear of pain becomes a real barrier to visiting a cosmetologist.
But is there really anything to be afraid of?

Before almost any injection procedure, anesthesia can be provided—and that’s exactly what I do for my patients.

An important point is the absence of contraindications.
For example, an allergy to anesthetic components—such as lidocaine, novocaine, or procaine—would be a contraindication.

What types of anesthesia do we use?

✅ In my practice, I use several types of anesthesia. Most often, I apply a numbing cream to the skin in the treatment area 20–30 minutes before the procedure.

✅ For lip contouring procedures—in addition to numbing cream, I can offer dental-type lidocaine anesthesia for those who are especially sensitive or have a low pain threshold.

Additionally, for contouring of the lips, cheeks, and other facial areas, we often use fillers that already contain lidocaine for extra comfort. Many fillers, such as Juvederm, Stylage, and Belotero, include lidocaine in their formula.

When performing procedures with Radiesse, lidocaine is always added for comfort.

❤️ So, there’s no need to worry—beauty injections don’t have to be painful.
